SwAgBuCkS

Ok a repost I know, but seriously this is one you can't go wrong with!  Constantly getting gift cards! This is for all my American and Canadian friends!

To Good to be True? Or is it....Working from Home

So a few months ago, a friend really nagged me to sign up and try  "SWAGBUCKS"  I was very skeptical and thought it was a big scam.  After her bugging me, I thought I really had nothing to lose.  I used the search bar and played a few games.  I thought maybe I'd try and redeem for a gift card.  Guess what?  On Thursday I really received a gift card for $25 in the mail!  Seriously, you should try it.  There is nothing to lose.  If your interested, click on the link.  If you want more info call me or message me.  Sign up through me at my referral and you'll receive free swagbucks to start.

Best Things in Life are Free!

In 2 months, we save $1987 and I really wanted to make that $2000 mark so I was brainstorming and came up with an idea.  I decided to email/call one company a day and see what I could get for free.  Lots of companies have sent me the "Thanks for your loyalty but we can't give you coupons" speech and a few actually sent stuff.

Johnsons/Aveeno:  2 Free products--I got gift baskets full of baby supplies, 6 x $1 off coupons for any Johnson product and the ability to contact them on a monthly basis for coupons to be sent out.

Colgate/Palmolive:  10 x $1 off coupons for any product

General Mills:  1 x FREE box of cereal ANY size!

Pampers:  $26 in assorted coupons

Huggies:  $17 in assorted coupons

Chapmans:  $5 off any Chapman product

Hirem Walker:  really cool personalized bookplates

Heinz:  pass to the factory store in Leamington

Stride:  3 x $1 off gum and some samples of new flavours

Not bad for an email a day!  I was surprised at the amount of items we were able to get.

FREE BEACH TOWELS
So when I was out deal searching this week I came across some specially marked boxes of Cheerios that cake with a code for a FREE BEACH TOWEL.  The towels are super cute too.  There are 5 different designs:  Cheerios, Honey Nut Cheerios, Pilsbury Dough Boy, Lucky Charms, and Stripes.  With my big family and a pool, we find we are always out of towels.  I bought 9 boxes and got 9 towels.  Another tip, the Cheerios are on sale at Giant Tiger for $2.97 and Price Chopper or Freshco for $3 (you can price match at Walmart)  You have to look for the specially marked box.  I found lots of multigrain at Freshco and lots of plain at Walmart.  So grab some towels!

Homemade Gel Ice Packs

This is a great one for the summer season that's usually full of scrapes and bumps.  So everyone who knows me knows now that I'm at home I love to do DIY or Do it yourself everything.  I love crafts and homemade stuff but my DIY has expanded to other areas.  Everyone always asks me how they should make something or do I know any home remedy.  So I'm going to give one of my fav tips to save and keep saving so I can stay at home with my kids.

1.  DIY Gel Ice Packs -- So I discovered these a few months back when my son had a fall and needed an ice pack and low and behold are gel pack was leaking.  I made my own gel packs.  I used the vaccu seal bags but I've made them with Ziplocs too.  Fill a bag with half a cup of Dish Soap, take the air out and freeze.  Now you have a flexible gel pack that's whatever size you want to make it.  I've also seen it made with 1 cup alcohol and 2 cups water but I find the soap one lasts longer.  It lasts way longer then the store bought packs and the vacu seal bags are much more durable.

So it's not the most interesting tip I've posted but I thought it might be useful.
